Scout & Youth Group Fieldtrip
Calling all Scouts and Youth Groups! Pretend City Children’s Museum invites you to come explore the city and earn a Pretend City Community Patch. This special afternoon field trip is specifically designed to offer groups the chance to engage in fun, hands-on activities while engaging in “Try-it, Achievement, and Elective” activities within the museum
During your visit, Pretend City will offer children the unique opportunity to address many of the qualities and requirements needed to progress through the various scouting and youth programs. This field trip will help children see various aspects of a city which make it a community and the true power in upholding strong character traits such as good citizenship, cooperation, respect and responsibility.
In this dynamic program, Pretend City staff will facilitate a 30-minute interactive lesson which focuses on the power of community, followed by up to 1.5 hours of free museum play. This lesson begins with an introduction discussing what a community is and the different careers that make up our community. How could we work together to “Build, Provide and Protect” the Pretend City community? Our hope is that at the end of the field trip every child understands that each person’s role in the city is equally important and essential in creating a strong, healthy and thriving community.
