Today, let’s join the Girl Scouts as we think, think, think about the earth around us during this annual World Thinking Day! During this very thoughtful day, people around the world participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries. So today, let’s think about what we can do to make sure that our earth and community stay as green as possible! This World Thinking Day takes the time to think about what you do on a daily basis. Can any of these things be different to ensure you are living a green lifestyle? Here at Pretend City we will be working together with you to make this concept easier. Today’s art project will not only allow members to create a lovely eco-friendly candle votive, but it will also teach children to be conscious of others and of recycling.
Play Partner: Pretendgineers and BrainBuilders; our experienced stage staff of trained early childhood and development educators.
Grown-up Tip: Helping your children understand the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling can be a challenge, but it becomes a bit clearer when they are educated about where products come from. When your child relates recycling glass products to saving a tangible item like sand at the beach, the concept is easier to grasp.
