Our Mission
Good To Go From Head To Toe aims to educate the community, parents and caretakers about the importance of regular developmental checkups for children age birth through 5-years-old. Through community outreach and partnerships, valuable resources and programming, the Good To Go From Head To Toe initiative aims to provide parents and caretakers with the knowledge of what healthy developmental is and how to uncover developmental milestones at various ages and developmental stages through play.
A Little History
• June 2009: Pretend City Children’s Museum was awarded a $3.5 million-dollar grant from The Children and Families Commission of Orange County to implement a 10-year child-development initiative called Good To Go From Head To Toe.
• The Good To Go From Head To Toe team reaches out to the community to secure partnerships and connect with more families. Good To Go From Head To Toe is supported by more than 50 corporate and community partners and these partnerships continue to grow. Check out all our partners.
• March 2010: Good To Go From Head To Toe held its first annual Family Fun & Wellness Fair at Pretend City Children’s Museum offering free vision, dental, hearing and BMI screenings. More than 1,000 families participated in the museum’s first health fair with more than 200 free screenings provided to children.

With an average of 600 guests visiting Pretend City Children’s Museum daily, the museum offers the perfect venue to connect with parents and caretakers to help them strengthen their child’s development through play. Research shows children learn best and develop optimally through meaningful play and hands-on learning experiences. Housing the Good To Go From Head To Toe initiative at Pretend City enables the organization to educate more families about the importance of regular developmental checkups and engage parents in meaningful play with their children.
