In 2009, Pretend City Children’s Museum launched its multi-year child-development initiative, Good To Go From Head To Toe, made possible by the Children and Families Commission of Orange County.

Good To Go From Head To Toe highlights the many reputable community partners associated with the initiative, Pretend City Children’s Museum will once again host its annual Good To Go From Head To Toe Family Fun & Wellness Fair. On behalf of Pretend City Children’s Museum, we hope that your family will join us as we celebrate the 3rd annual fair in St. Patrick’s day style!

Over the past two years, more than 1,700 guests including parents, children, early childhood educators, nonprofit partners and members of the healthcare field attended our Good To Go From Head To Toe Family Fun & Wellness Fairs. More than 50 community partners were on site providing valuable resources for families including fun activities and free health screenings for children. We are proud to share some of the following milestones achieved at the fair over the past two years:

	465 children participated in BMI (body mass index) testing provided by Irvine & Laguna Beach School Readiness Nurses as well as the Orange County Health Care Agency, Public Health Nurses.
	367 children were provided with speech screenings by Speech Pathology Associates.
	193 children were provided with speech and hearing screenings by Providence Speech and Hearing.
	More than 460 children received dental screenings from Zachary Orthodontics, South OC Pediatric Dental Group and Rancho Santa Margarita Children’s Dentistry.

In addition to free health screenings, children took part in dance contests sponsored by our media partners, OC Family magazine, Playlist 92.7 and PBS SoCal. The Anaheim Duck’s mascot, Wild Wing, came out to take photos with children while members of the Irvine Fire Department gave children an up and close look at a real fire rig.

The health fair will be open to the general public at no cost and will include an opportunity for children to earn a free ticket to Pretend City Children’s Museum. The outstanding turnout witnessed the last two years proves the value of the Good To Go From Head To Toe initiative and our goal is to include even more health screening opportunities for children at this year’s fair.
