When I sort building materials, my brain makes learning connections to:
– notice details, likeness, differences and to form categories; essential to reading and math
– observe and use the concepts of symmetry, balance and design
– use number concepts like more, less, longer and shorter
– recognize and use the concepts of color, shape, texture, and size
– develop and evaluate events using inferences and predictions based on data (Logical Reasoning)
– understand patterns and how they are related (Organizational Skills)
– observe and practice the relationship of space and size
